MidTown Cleveland, Inc.’s public-private strategy
has allowed our cooperative relationships with governmental, corporate and philanthropic
partners to flourish. By engaging our strategic partners, we’ve successfully
championed major initiatives that benefit MidTown and the Northeast Ohio region.
Our recent accomplishments include:
- Immersing the organization in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s
(ODOT) planning efforts to ensure the access from the Innerbelt to Prospect
and Carnegie Avenues isn’t eliminated, as originally proposed in the
Innerbelt Reconstruction Project.
- Administering the City of Cleveland’s Empowerment Zone and Storefront
Renovation Programs to facilitate business expansion and site improvements.
- Successfully lobbying for the resurfacing of Carnegie and Kelly Avenues.
- Receiving a Clean Ohio Brownfield Grant to purchase the Ohio Knitting
Mills building at 1974 East 61st Street, demolish the adjacent abandoned
Wood & Spencer Screw Factory building, and eliminate environmental contamination
to begin construction of the MidTown Technology Center.
- Collaborating with Euclid Corridor Transportation Project contractors
to ensure the final design benefits MidTown.
- Reducing the appearance of litter and graffiti through community beautification
events and ongoing visual quality initiatives.
- Implementing a dedicated security patrol to provide supplemental security
to all MidTown stakeholders.
- Master planning the MidTown Service Area to guide urban development and
promote economic growth.
- Facilitating the development of the Montana Townhomes, located at East
36th Street and Prospect Avenue.
- Securing the resources to demolish the former Electronic Technical Institute
(ETI) building located at 4222-4300 Euclid Avenue to accommodate the new
headquarters campus of Center for Families and Children.

and beauty of historic Prospect Avenue.
