Support Stakeholder-driven Master Planning of Midtown: MidTown Cleveland, Inc. establishes land use planning and policies to guide future development of MidTown. Periodically, MidTown Cleveland, Inc. updates the area’s master plan to address new realities. The current master plan, Beyond 2005: A Vision for MidTown Cleveland, outlines plans and strategies to position MidTown as a competitive regional center; develop long-term appreciation for real estate values; and establish a sense of place. Support Civic Planning that Enhances MidTown: MidTown Cleveland, Inc. serves as the area representative on governmental and civic planning and project teams to effectively champion the area. Current projects include the Euclid Corridor Transportation Project and the Innerbelt Reconstruction Project. Support the Land Development Initiative & New Product Development: A long-term economic development strategy, MidTown Cleveland Inc.’s Land Development Initiative allows the organization to assemble large tracts of strategically located land for sustainable and equitable commercial, industrial, and residential growth. MidTown Cleveland Inc.’s core strategy of building a competitive market environment is to aggressively work toward full redevelopment of underutilized land. Activities include environmental assessment of the properties to be purchased, acquisition, demolition, clean-up and soil remediation. In addition to banking land for current business use and facility development, MidTown Cleveland, Inc. utilizes its land bank as a catalyst for new product and new economy initiatives such as high technology centers, mixed-use transit-oriented development and urban residential projects. |
