25th Anniversary Celebration and Euclid Block Party a Huge Success

Dinner, drinks, music and conversations with good friends, coworkers and neighbors made MidTown Cleveland, Inc.’s 25th anniversary party a true celebration.

Nearly 400 MidTown supporters came to MidTown Cleveland, Inc.’s block party at the Agora Theater on Thursday, September 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to honor both the history and future of the MidTown neighborhood.

“I am always blown away by the support that MidTown has,” Diane Dunleavy, MidTown Cleveland, Inc.’s deputy director said. “An anniversary of 25 years simply wouldn’t have happened without our stakeholders’ and local businesses’ commitment to making MidTown a better place.”

Joseph Calabrese, CEO and General Manager of RTA was on hand to give attendees tours on the new RTA Silver Line transit vehicles through the completed MidTown section of the Euclid Corridor. The project is set to be completed next year and partygoers were among the first to ride in the new buses that will soon travel from Downtown to University Circle.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, Ward 5 Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland, Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones and former MidTown Cleveland, Inc. Executive Directors, Margaret Murphy and Christopher Johnson, all spoke in honor of MidTown Cleveland’s Inc.’s quarter century of advocacy for the neighborhood.

A 25th anniversary video featuring MidTown stakeholders was shown and Paul Volpe, president of City Architecture, Inc., Daniel Sussen, chairman of Sussen Foundation, Inc. and Frank Porter, president of Central Cadillac-Hummer gave a presentation on the East 55th Street and Euclid Avenue Public Enhancement Project, informing attendees about the future of public art projects in the MidTown area.

Music was provided by “Last Call,” a band featuring Rob Lash of Moskey Dental Lab, Inc.
